An interwoven tangle of aspen branches creates a complex sunburst pattern. Shooting with a small lens aperture directly into the sun as it peeks from behind an object produces the starburst effect. Aspen boles in the foreground provide graphic interest, while backlighting pumps up the orange, yellow, and green colors of the background foliage.
